 What Vaccinations are needed?

Before travel, please consult a local General Practitioner or Tropical Travel Specialist Agency for up to date advice on recommended vaccines and malaria prophylaxis.

 What about Insurance?

It is essential that comprehensive travel insurance is purchased. Your insurance must cover medical care for your activity and it is vital to have helicopter emergency evacuation included. On arrival, please hand copies of your emergency contact numbers to the Wildlotus Adventure Guide.

 Are Visas required for Vietnam?

A visa is required for all nationalities and for UK citizens a 10 year passport is required. This must be valid for 6 months beyond the intended length of stay.

 Wildlotus safety and First Aid

Safety is our most important consideration, but accidents do happen, and you are ultimately responsible for your own safety. All Wildlotus Adventure Guides have received basic first aid training. However, it is recommended that you bring your own personal first aid supplies. The kit could include antiseptic wound wipes, antiseptic liquid/cream, wound closure strips, sterile gauze and bandage, antihistamine cream, blister plasters, oral re-hydration sachets, water purifying tablets, anti mosquito liquid and a handy penknife.

Do you subscribe to sustainable tourism?

We are continually assessing our treks to try to make sure that they are as socially, economically and environmentally sound as possible. Our intention is to deliver adventures that contribute to and enhances Vietnam’s unique cultural and natural environment wherever possible.

 What’s the Weather like?

Vietnam has a tropical climate and is relatively hot and humid all year round. We plan our departures to coincide with the best time of year for tours.
In the North
There are four clear-cut seasons: spring, summer, fall, winter. From November to March it is rather cool and can be cold due to the humidity level, while the average temperature is about 30°C from April to October.
In the Centre
The narrowest part of the country usually suffers the most from typhoons and heavy rains during the months from September to November.

In the South
The difference between two seasons, dry from November to May and rainy from June to October, is very clear. During the rainy season it is usually raining only in the evening or very early in the morning. Temperatures are warm all year long.
Contact us for the best times to travel. Whatever the season, be prepared for a mixed bag!

What languages do the Wildlotus Adventure guides speak?

Our guides speak English and French. German, Spanish and Russian are spoken by some guides. Please email us if you have specific language speaking requirements.

What age and Nationalities are the participants?

This can vary from tour to tour, but generally the age range is from 25-70 with a mixture of clients from the US, UK,  France, and Australasia. Everybody is welcome on our tours and the mixture of ages and nationalities is one of the great things about our groups.

Can children join all Wildlotus tours?

Children are welcome on some of our tours but not all are suitable for children. Please contact us with the age and fitness of your child along with the tours you are considering and we will be happy to advise.

 Are flights included?

International flights are not included and need to be arranged either by yourself or a travel agent. Tours with domestic flights are included where specified for each tour.
